![]() I would very much recommend this book to anybody, especially fans of the series who want to see an alternate side to the story. The imagery used is also very powerfull, lending to the tone of the story and the internal conflict that Dexter experiences. It’s easy to read which given the type of book it is, really shows the talent of the author. ![]() It’s an extremely gripping story and I managed to complete this book in only a couple of sittings. I don’t think the series would work quite so well if it clung too tightly to the books so it’s good that there are differences, it’s similar enough to be comfortable without spoiling your enjoyment of either one. The book is written really well, it’s narrated from Dexter’s point of view very much like the series and I really enjoyed it, Jeff Lindsay really brings the character of Dexter across and the actors in the series all do very well at emulating the way they were written. This is nice for me because very often I have an incling about the twist before it comes, and this caught me off guard. It keeps you guessing and it means that I didn’t guess the twist. There are some big differences between the books and the series and to be honest, in this case I think that’s a good thing. ![]() ![]() I’ve been very much enjoying the Dexter series and having got a couple of seasons in, I decided to try out the books. ![]()
